Cofresh Snack Foods Limited

Cofresh Snack Foods originated in Kenya in the 1960’s where Managing Director Priyesh Patel’s father, Dinesh ‘Papa’ Patel, owned and ran a factory making potato crisps and popcorn for local cinemas and shops. In 1974 Dinesh and his wife Savita emigrated to the UK and invested their life savings in a fish & chip shop in Leicester. The fish & chip shop closed down but the couple’s traditional handmade spicy peanuts and green peas – which were cooked in the fryers and packed by hand into small pouches – soon found favour with consumers and retailers alike. The business soon flourished thanks to the couple’s hard work and their ability to meet the growing demand for authentic Indian snacks. These two simple products were the start of the multi-million pound company that Cofresh is today. We are now the UK's Number 1 Indian snack brand, with a 39% market share. In 2014 we launched Eat Real - the healthier snacking brand - in response to the growing demand for 'free from' and vegan snacks. With more and more consumers following a free from and/or vegan diet, the brand has enjoyed phenomenal success; it now leads the healthier snacking category and is one of the UK’s fastest growing healthier snacking brands. Eat Real offers a wide range of plant and grain-based ‘good for you’ snacks which are based on three simple concepts – taste, nutrition and real ingredients with no hidden nasties. Made from all natural ingredients and free from all 14 declarable allergens, they’re gluten-free, lactose-free, Vegan and suitable for Kosher and Halal diets. Eat Real is now the UK's Number 1 'free from' bagged snack brand, with a 38.5% market share.
