If we just think for a moment of giving our children considerable freedom to choose what to learn, how to learn, and to some degree, even when to learn, what do you think would happen? Would they ever bother to learn anything worthwhile? At Swatantra Talim, we give children and youth a space where they can truly practice, rather than just read, about the principles of free speech, free association, and the freedom to choose their own learning paths. The important principle is that children are motivated to learn, and they learn better, to the extent that they have choice over how and what they learn.
