Disney’s multi-faceted support includes additional sponsorship and in-kind support for the USA Games, Presenting Partner for the Volunteer Program and ESPN’s role as the Global Presenting Sponsor of Special Olympics Unified Sports. The 2022 Special Olympics USA Games will feature competition in 19+ sports including more than 4,000 athletes, 10,000 volunteers, 1,500 coaches, and 125,000 fans from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and 16 Caribbean countries, making this the “Largest Humanitarian Event" in the history of the State of Florida. The Special Olympics USA Games began in Ames, Iowa in 2006, and have continued every four years since, having been hosted in Lincoln, Nebraska (2010) New Jersey (2014), and Seattle, Washington (2018).
