Our Agency Montgomery Community Action Committee & CDC is one of the nation's many CAPs. Since 1965 MCAC has served the low-income residents of Montgomery County, Alabama. Our agency is non-profit organization that provides social services and programs that assist, educate and promote self-sufficiency. Our agency is also partnered with housing programs that provide affordable housing for residents. Services and programs that are provided: • Early Head Start (Birth to Age 3) • Head Start (Ages 3-5) • Emergency Assistance Program • Employment and Training Program • Energy Assistance Program • Family Gardening • Project Legal • Clinic Senior Program • Youth Program About the Early Head Start/Head Start Program: The Early Head Start/Head Start program is biggest program that is offered by MCAC. The program's objective is to provide qualify, safe, nurturing, engaging, enjoyable and secure learning environments for the 1700-1800 children (Birth to Age 5) that are served at the 20 centers throughout the Montgomery County. Services and programs that are provide by Head Start Program: • Academics • Family Services • Nutrition • Medical Health and Dental Screenings • Disability Services • Parental Involvement Our Vision Moving residents of the Montgomery area toward a life without poverty Our Mission Montgomery Community Action Agency combats poverty and advocates for self-sufficiency through programs and services which assist low-income citizens in the River Region.
