The Possibilities Are Endless Students and potential employees are often not knowledgeable about the credentials needed to enter the fields of biology. Meanwhile, employers advertise for “wrong size” credentials for positions that need more or less training than the credential specified. Micro-credentials solve this wrong-sizing by giving texture and accurate breadth to the applicant’s history in skills-acquired format. In higher education, credentials are largely awarded for content knowledge leaving graduates with degrees that lack detail on the lab skills acquired.
