Santa Barbara Audubon Society
www.santabarbaraaudubon.orgIn 1963, the Museum of Natural History’s Bird Study Group became the Santa Barbara Chapter of the National Audubon Society. Our members organize and lead bi-weekly bird walks, monthly field trips, and education programs, all of which are free and open to the public. Our keystone outreach program, Eyes in the Sky, presents formerly injured birds of prey to the community. The birds are housed in the Audubon Aviary at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. Every year we hold or support special events such as the Winter Bird Count 4 Kids and the Christmas Bird Count. Our mission is to protect area birdlife and habitat and connect people with birds through education, conservation, and science."
