Elsie Normington Foundation is a charity committed to improving life for young people with learning disabilities and complex needs living in the Highlands of Scotland. Our vision is of a tolerant society in which young people with learning disabilities can live happy, healthy and fulfilled lives, with access to the services they need; and that their families feel well supported too. Established in 2013, Elsie Normington Foundation is to lead the construction of the Haven Centre, with the facility opening by early 2023. Plans for the Haven Centre, created in consultation with local families, include an accessible play centre, 3 flats for flexible overnight respite & short breaks, and a community café where young people with disabilities will be able to undertake supported work experience placements.
