We were all born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, one of the world’s largest cities. Our intention was to move to Toronto; however, our immigration plans took an interesting turn. The day after we submitted our application, the World Trade Center collapsed and all immigration applications were put on hold and delayed significantly. Each of our properties became half their value and we didn’t have sufficient funds to immigrate to Toronto. My mom asked our lawyer what other options we had. He suggested the Provincial Nominee Program to move to Prince Edward Island, Canada’s smallest province. We moved to Prince Edward Island and made a name for ourselves very quickly. We loved living on the island and learning how simple life can be. Five years down the road I moved to Toronto and my family started to follow me. “I came with $0 and purchased my vehicle and home in my first two years here.” — Brian Golod I have been in the technology industry for 23 years, since I was 13 years old.
