Design/Build/Fly at UCLA
aiaa.seas.ucla.eduDesign, Build, Fly, at UCLA is an engineering project largely revolving around aviation and aerospace. The project features five different sub-groups of Aerodynamics, Structures, Propulsion, Manufacturing, and Computer-Aided Design. Every year, the project innovates and designs a new remote-controlled aircraft adhering to a specific set of competition requirements put forth by the AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics). The ultimate goal of the project, in addition to designing a fly-ready plane that can pass the mission sets given by AIAA, is to give students the opportunity to use their engineering skills for hands-on work in the real world, building their experience and love of engineering.
