Smart Mold S.r.l. is a start-up and a spin-off of the University of Padua. Smart Mold is specialized in the development of innovative surface treatments and coatings for molds for plastic materials. These treatments are designed to significantly reduce the pressure required to fill a mold cavity and the force required to eject the molded parts. They, therefore, represent an effective solution to: 1) reduce the thickness (and therefore cost) of the molded parts, 2) mold polymers with a high content of viscous recycled plastics, 3) reduce molding cycle time by anticipating parts ejection, 4) shift and strengthen critical weld lines.
