One of Georgia's longest-running community theatre groups, operating from the historic Legion Theatre in the heart of downtown Cartersville. Our four programs serve a broad audience of adults, families, and youth with fee-free participation in our shows, low cost workshops and classes, and special events. Our primary mission continues to be to provide opportunities for anyone of any experience level to be able to participate in and enjoy the performing arts. Our Pumphouse Mainstage program presents our regular season of 6-8 plays each year. These shows are often a combination of comedies, dramas, musicals, and seasonal shows designed with something for everyone. Pumphouse Junior is our children's theatre initiative, which provides free and reduced-cost programming to children ages 5-18. This program is currently in expansion due to high demand and incredible response from our community. We support Georgia playwrights with our Pumphouse Playwrights program, which produces staged and online play readings with talkbacks to help playwrights develop new scripts. In addition to local readings, this program also produces original shorts and often works in conjunction with local writers to produce special events. In 2021, we added Pumphouse Unlimited, which is our home for more challenging or non-traditional content, both scripted and unscripted. We are excited to launch this program's first season in July 2021 under Program Director Meghann K. Humphreys.
