Citizens' Greener Evanston is a non-profit organization of 2,700+ members working to make our community a national leader in climate mitigation and resilience by advocating for strong climate policy, educating the public, and forging alliances across the community. Our priority is the swift and comprehensive implementation of Evanston's Climate Action and Resilience Plan. We understand that sustainability and equity go hand in hand and are striving to be anti-racist in all of our endeavors. We are an umbrella group for several programs and committees including Go Evanston, Edible Evanston, Natural Habitat Evanston, Beyond Waste Evanston, Watershed Collective and an active Energy Committee. We work with City staff and the Evanston Environment Board to achieve the ambitious goals set forth by CARP including carbon neutrality and zero waste by 2050, 100% renewable energy by 2035. Additionally we have strong alliances with Evanston Community Foundation, Evanston Fight For Black Lives, Collective Resource Composting, Evanston Rebuilding Warehouse, the Evanston Township High School Sustainability Committee, District 65 Green Team, EvanSTEM, Latinos En the North Shore (LENS), Mitchell Museum of the American Indian, Evanston's Juneteenth Parade and others.
