In 1917, the predecessor to E L Industries – The Elgin Corporation – was formed to market the products of Elgin Sweeper Company (manufacturer of street sweepers). In 1934, the products of the Leach Company (manufacturer of refuse collection bodies) were added to the company’s representation. In 1965, the company purchased the assets of the Vreeland Company which represented both Leach and Elgin in the export market. This was the start of what is now known as E.L. Industries International, Inc. Since 1965, the company has sold over $800 million USD in over 75 different countries, in the various markets around the world.
