Georgetown Campus/South Seattle College

georgetown.seattlecolleges.edu

The Georgetown Campus is uniquely positioned as a community partner in key workforce initiatives, as well as convener of business, industry, government, and community. The Georgetown campus consists of Washington State Registered Apprenticeship programs, Bachelor of Applied Science degree programs in Colin Education Hall, Washington State Labor Education and Research Center, and South Seattle Corporate & Customized Training Office. The Georgetown Campus trains more than 4,000 apprentices and journey-level workers annually in 64 different trades. The curriculum is developed in collaboration with business, labor, industry and government through apprenticeship training committees, industry coalitions, and regulatory agencies. Georgetown is home to South’s three (soon to be four) BAS degree programs in Sustainable Building Science Technology, Hospitality Management, and Professional Technical Teacher Education. These degree programs were developed with industry partners to address the need for career oriented degrees with immediate application. Because of this unique connection to labor, the Washington State Labor Education and Research Center (LERC) joined the Georgetown campus in July of 2010. The Washington State Labor Education and Research Center (LERC) works with unions, community-based organizations and within colleges throughout Washington State to provide trainings and classes for and about working people. The Corporate & Customized Training Department serves as a focal point for business, labor and community in support of economic development, educational opportunities, family wage jobs and global competitiveness in greater South King County. With the resources of the entire Seattle Colleges at its disposal, the department can provide high quality, effective and efficient educational training in multiple disciplines and industries.
