Hello! We are Michelle and Katie (she/hers) - an LGBTQ+ couple, and the faces behind the phoenix at Perfectly Proud. Firstly, thank you so much for visiting our site! Simply put, we're here to support, educate, and spread queer joy. Why and how are we going to do that you ask? Well, like many LGBTQ+ people, we have experienced the emotional rollercoaster of confusion and shame that coming out (...going back in, then coming out again) can bring. Coming from an Irish Catholic background and tiny Cumbrian village life background, we met in London (thank you, Tinder) and it’s here where we have found amazing people and places, and now feel comfortable with who we are. We both feel that brands like Perfectly Proud would’ve been SO helpful and comforting to our younger selves and, as queer women, we want to put a special focus on what is available, visible and aimed at queer women. We don’t want to leave anyone unspoken for though and with all of our ideas for the future, we will have something for everyone in the LGBTQ+ community! To further support the community, our hope is to work with LGBTQ+ and independent businesses. We do all the searching to bring you the best brands and products possible whilst also helping to make them more visible in the wider market. Anything you see as an imperfection within yourself, is actually a perfect and unique part of you!
