www.hy-gro.nlHYGRO creates a green hydrogen value chain by optimising from a systems perspective, leveraging synergy between wind turbine, electrolyser, distribution, storage and end-user requirements. Due to the created synergy a complete new set of economic optimisations of renewable energy production arises: - Using the wind turbine to its full technical potential and, - Making it possible to yield much more energy per km2 from wind, stored chemically in the form of hydrogen and, - Deliver this energy at much lower cost than possible with electricity, competing with diesel prices and, - Offering substantial CO2 reduction potential with respect to hydrogen produced by steam methane reforming. The development offers also has a strong spatial planning impact: - In case of standalone offshore hydrogen turbines, no substations and high-voltage power lines are required, so the wind farm design has a new economic optimum, and the available space will be used more effectively. This allows for harvesting more energy per km2 on already scarce lands.
