GoS Watches

www.goswatches.com

The partnership between the bladesmith Johan Gustafsson and watchmaker Patrik Sjögren aims to provide truly unique watches with inspiration from the cold north of Scandinavia. Master bladesmith Johan Gustafsson and watchmaker Patrik Sjรถgren have Scandinavian nature and history as a key source of inspiration when designing the GoS watches. Their love for the Scandinavian ethos makes their teamwork come naturally even though their respective crafts are very different in character. Metal working is always in focus in high end watchmaking but even more so in the watches from Gustafsson & Sjรถgren. The reason for this is the handforged patternwelded steel made by Johan Gustafsson. The history of patternwelded steel, also known as damascus steel, is very long and the Vikings were among the first cultures to develop this welding technique that made their swords superior to others. Johan Gustafsson has reinvented the ancient techniques and use modern Swedish tools steels to create his own unimitable damascus steel. Patrik Sjรถgren then manufactures watch parts of the steel. Patrik is able to combine a raw steel finish with highgloss polished surfaces by applying both classic Swiss watchmaking techniques and etching.
