Glass2Sand is an environment-friendly “Zero waste” initiative to address the growing menace of glass bottles being dumped into landfills by crushing them to valuable sand. The start-up received a special grant from the New Zealand High Commissioner in India to import the innovative New Zealand technology. 10 institutions are partners and a volunteer network of 120 members was established to collect glass empties from across Delhi. 10,000+ bottles crushed into 6,000 kg of high-grade silica sand, 200,000+ website hits and 12,600+ Social Media likes.
