Originally founded in 1954, Mutual Security is now one of the largest state-chartered community-based credit unions in Connecticut. We are a not-for-profit, member owned financial institution, which allows us to return earnings to our member–owners in the form of higher rates on checking and savings accounts, and lower rates on loans and credit cards. Over the years, we have established a foundation built on one goal – to create a safe, strong, and secure organization equipped with a full-line of innovative products and services designed to help our nearly 30,000 member-owners achieve financial security. Mutual Security is open to everyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Fairfield, Litchfield, and New Haven Counties.
