CAVIAT was established in 2001 as a Joint Technical Education District (JTED) in the state of Arizona. There are currently 13 JTEDs statewide. CAVIAT has five member school districts: Flagstaff, Fredonia, Grand Canyon, Page and Williams. CAVIAT's mission is to provide high school students with the opportunity to acquire career related skills and ethics needed to become responsible members of society.
