Established in 1962 and named after J.B. (Ben) Chifley, Chifley Public School is set in spacious grounds and offers a comprehensive education for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. Chifley PS creates an atmosphere where students, staff and parents form a community of shared needs and expectations. Being a small school, staff are able to know and cater for the individual needs of all students. Our school has a dedicated staff, active P & C and diverse community catering the individual needs of all our students. Our students have various opportunities throughout the week to develop their gifts, talents and strengthen all learning areas. The students can be involved in math extension, Math Olympiad, chess, debating, public speaking, dance, guitar, ukulele choir, and an extensive environmental program that involves our students in gardening, looking after the school environment and is embedded throughout all classroom programs. Our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program enables all students to cook, grow and discover the world around them. Our comprehensive PDHPE / Sport program also enables our students to gain skills in areas such as fundamental movements, gymnastics, dance and cricket. Weekly competitive sport is also available in netball, softball, T Ball, cricket and rugby league.
