Reroot.org
www.reroot.orgThe challenge Electronic music is an amazing leveller. It breaks down barriers and brings us together across borders and languages. On the dancefloor, we’re all equal. But off the dancefloor, we’re not. The world’s poorest and most vulnerable are hit first and worst by a climate crisis created mainly in wealthy countries. Sadly clubs, festivals and touring contribute disproportionately to this. Our approach We believe passionately in electronic music as a force for good in the world. By taking a step back, rethinking how we do some things and pulling together around a shared vision and goals, we believe it can also be a pioneer for environmental action. Established as a small non-profit in 2019, we are drawing on our own professional experience in the fields of futures and sustainability to help convene discussions about what a healthier, more sustainable industry would look like post-COVID. Partners Collaborating with DJs for Climate Action, together we rolled out a survey in 2020 to gather views and aspirations across the global DJ community. We are now co-facilitating a participatory visioning process with selected DJs4CA members. Our other friends and partners include industry initiatives like Bye Bye Plastic and Tail & Twist, and environmental specialists including ClimateCare and Climate Neutral Group.
