The Last Friday Club, Sheffield. The Last Friday Club has been running for some 20 years now. It is a very informal networking event held, surprisingly enough, on the last Friday of each month. There are no membership formalities or costs, we simply add you to the email distribution list. Each month someone (usually a business) sponsors the meeting by paying for the room and buffet. They then arrange whatever displays or promotional literature they want at the event, but there are no presentations or sales pitches. The venue is the Forum Cafe Bar on Devonshire Green, Sheffield from 12:30 until 2:00pm. There are no formal invitations or bookings, people just turn up and hopefully bring a client or colleague. We have a circulation list of about 450 people in the construction and property sectors in South Yorkshire who receive details of each month's event, and the sponsoring company does their own marketing as well. Depending on how proactive the sponsor is we usually get 50-60 people at the event, and have had as many as 120.
