Under the Police Services Act we are responsible for: * Ensuring the provision of adequate and effective policing in Toronto * Determining the priorities and objectives after consultation with Chief * Establishing policies for the effective management of the Service * Appointing the Chief, Deputies and certain Senior Executive members of the Service * Approving budgets for submission to the City * Negotiating the collective agreements with the Toronto Police Association and the Senior Officers Organization * Monitoring the performance of Chief of Police and Deputy Chiefs of Police
