African Caribbean Medical Mentors (ACMM) works to realise the potential of Africans and Caribbean current and future healthcare professionals, particularly in medicine and dentistry. Through mentoring, outreach programs and events for prospective black students, we ensure students have the support and confidence to apply and be successful in medical school. Black medical students support our initiatives and are celebrated throughout our organisation. For black healthcare professionals, we facilitate networking and support, and more importantly - provide the opportunity to give back to students who look like them. We run a 1 on 1 mentoring program, outreach to primary, secondary schools and sixth forms, as well as annual and one off events which all aim to unlock future potential, realise current potential and celebrate those achieving their potential. We run social media campaigns to raise awareness of the issues within medicine, and provide monthly newsletters to prospective and current medical students and doctors about current issues and opportunities within healthcare.
