Bondi Kids Drama

www.bondikidsdrama.com

Bondi Kids Drama is a collaboration between actor Olivia Pigeot and writer/director Alexander Lee-Rekers, who have combined their extensive experience in the creative industry with a shared passion for teaching and inspiring future generations of young actors, artists and creatives. Each term of classes are carefully curated to suit the students participating - the themes and topics they respond to, how they interact with each other, and what they may have learned in previous terms. In the final few weeks, students will devise, rehearse and present an original group performance - something totally new that they have actively participated in creating. These performances bring all of their skills into focus and will allow parents to see their hard work pay off, and also remind students that performing--much like all of drama--is about communicating ideas and making meaningful connections. BKD aims to foster mindfulness, emotional and physical awareness, as well as the kind of self regulation that comes with study and practice of a chosen discipline. These qualities are developed through strategies as diverse as improv, kids yoga, clowning, writing and even music--and delivered via as many silly games and exercises we can fit into a single hour of class. Ultimately, Bondi Kids Drama hopes to foster a community of young creatives who can express themselves and articulate their feelings. It is our goal to see these young people flourish, and support each other as friends and collaborators for many years to come.
