The Jersey Bank Depositors Compensation Scheme (DCS) has been in force since November 2009. Jersey has a strong and robust banking sector and the island did not have a single bank failure in the 2008 global financial crisis. The DCS was set up to provide depositors with compensation in the unlikely event of bank failure. We have worked with leading experts in the field of deposit protection to develop the framework for the administration of the DCS and a IT system to administer and pay compensation.
