For more than a decade, mangrove.org has been restoring mangrove habitat in tropical and subtropical regions of the world in order to promote biodiversity and conservation as-well-as improve the health of marine ecosystems and the lives of indigenous peoples. Mangroves damaged or destroyed by anthropogenic influences and inclement events have been reforested to provide continuous life-cycle support for native birds, fish and mammals. Mangroves are essential to overall wellbeing of the environment through the assimilation of pollutants, improvements in water quality and quality of the atmosphere. Mangrove reforestation strengthens coastal resilience to protect coastlines, coral reefs and endangered species.
