Grenland Energy was established in 2012 by four entrepreneurs with extensive experience and expertise from both Li-Ion cell manufacturing and automotive industry. In autumn 2014 the company was awarded «Entrepreneur of the Year» in Telemark County. Later the same year, Kongsberg Maritime become shareholder by acquiring an interest of 20% in the company. Through this strategic partnership, Grenland Energy gained access to a larger international market.
