Merging NepSocs
www.mergingnepsocs.comWe, Merging NepSocs were founded in October 2017 to unite the undergraduates, postgraduates and young professionals from the Nepalese diaspora in the UK thus providing a networking platform with an overarching aim of improving social mobility. Our current main areas of focus are our: • established mentoring scheme; • Young Professionals Club which organises monthly events in central London at Macfarlanes LLP (contact is MNSyoungprofessionals@gmail.com); • dedicated societies established in various universities across the UK; • annual magazine, the NepSocs today; and • ad-hoc events such as annual functions and volunteering/charity related projects. Our recent achievements include: • supporting 406 international students through a dedicated helpline (i.e., one-to-one counselling/call back service, financial support of £21,672 and food packages) during the Covid-19 pandemic; • being officially endorsed by the Embassy of Nepal in London to assist during the Covid-19 pandemic; • establishing our dedicated society at several universities across the UK; and • organising 3 post-pandemic events for our Young Professionals Club with attendees from various backgrounds including professional services firms, bulge bracket investment banks, start-ups and various other recognised firms and companies across multiple industries.
