About Canterbury Tech At Canterbury Tech we are passionate about helping our region’s tech companies and people prosper. Across our broad-based member community, we are proud to include some of New Zealand’s most innovative companies and successful entrepreneurs, based in a region renowned globally for it’s tech excellence. The idea for Canterbury Tech was born in 2003 when a group of like-minded CEO’s, business owner’s and tech entrepreneurs connected informally to talk about ways they could help each other and support the technology and innovation sector in Canterbury. Since then, we have been the voice and connector of local technology companies and have seen the sector grow to become the second largest tech centre in New Zealand. It has pivoted from its traditional strengths of agriculture and tourism to a sustainable, economic future based on local, world-class technology companies.
