The Learners Collective (TLC) is an online learning service, creating mentorship opportunities for BAME and other traditionally underrepresented tutors with students from disadvantaged backgrounds. As a service, TLC represents and connects Schools and institutions with Scholars: the most inspiring, intelligent, academically gifted tutors from Oxbridge and top Russell Group universities. Scholars are articulate and driven A/A* students - all of whom from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds. We bring together Scholars and students of similar backgrounds for a blend of academic and personal mentorship – with a distinct focus on critical thinking and emotional intelligence. The TLC programme aims to allow students to find empowerment in education. By virtue of their background, Scholars have achieved success in the face of adversity. As role models, Scholars share their experience to inspire and equip students with the tangible skills, knowledge and confidence to find success in exams – and above all, in their own skin.
