With the vision of a fully literate Bangladesh, AlterYouth is a Person-2-Person Scholarship Platform enabling individuals to start scholarships directly for students in Government Primary Schools throughout Bangladesh. Each Literacy Scholarship is TK 1,000/month, contingent upon at least 75% attendance and passing marks in class by the student. With an additional TK 200/month scholarship service charge, the total cost of providing each scholarship is TK 1,200/month, continuing until completion of Class 5 by the receiving student. AlterYouth does not accept/use donations. It only transfers scholarships from its users to their respective students through mobile banking. The primary purpose of a Literacy Scholarship is to prevent dropouts before a child learns to read.
