In September 2012, USAID Lebanon launched the BALADI program to support local stakeholders (CSOs, municipalities, NGOs, FBOs, communities…) and improve their resilience in providing transparent, quality services to communities across Lebanon. Through the Request for Municipal Assistance (RFMA) and the more recent Request for Community Assistance (RFCA), BALADI is aiming to achieve USAID’s overarching goal of “improved accountability and credibility of public institutions and broader economic prosperity” in Lebanese villages. Each project is tailored to the needs of the local community and engages its members in the planning and implementation stages of every project in order to ensure high impact and sustainability.
