www.geneseo.eduThe Geneseo Opportunities for Leadership Development (GOLD) program prepares students with a portfolio of personal skills and knowledge needed for success in life and leadership roles and responsibilities in service to the College and the global community. Our mission is accomplished through education, development, and training of students in an extensive series of personal development programs, leadership certificates, service learning, volunteer work, and active engagement in college and community life. Go a step further: become a GOLD Leader Mentor! GOLD Leader Mentors are student leaders who participate in a 1-credit, discussion-based class once a week, participate in GOLD events and complete certificate programs, serve as role models for other student leaders and campus organizations, provide information on campus activities and organizations, and help students to make connections and get involved in campus life. The mentor staff introduce speakers at workshops, oversee student Personal Development Sessions and provide support and assistance for all GOLD programs, including Leadership Certificate Programs. Student leaders and students enrolled in the GOLD Leadership Certificate Program are encouraged to apply for the leader mentor positions.
