Rebuilding Together St. Louis
www.rebuildingtogether-stl.orgRebuilding Together believes in a safe and healthy home for every person. This means that we believe disabled and aging homeowners should be able to remain in their homes for as long as possible. We believe that homeowners displaced by natural disaster will get back into safe housing with help from the community. We believe that our nation’s veterans with disabilities deserve safe and accessible homes. Rebuilding Together believes we can preserve affordable homeownership and revitalize communities by providing free home modifications and repairs, making homes safer, more accessible, and more energy efficient. Rebuilding Together – St. Louis is an affiliate of a national volunteer organization. It revitalizes neighborhoods in partnership with the community by rehabilitating the houses of low-income homeowners, particularly the elderly and the disabled, so that they may continue to live independently in comfort and safety. Rebuilding Together - St. Louis also renews neighborhoods by rebuilding community centers, playgrounds and other community projects. Rebuilding Together – St. Louis was incorporated in March 1992 with the first Rebuilding Day held in May of 1993. In 1993, 105 volunteers worked on five homes. Ten years later, Rebuilding Together – St. Louis completed its 500th home project. Thus far Rebuilding Together – St. Louis has assisted 1,275 homeowners, completed 52 community projects and 489 R.T.
