- PRESENTATION Calcidrata – Indústrias de Cal, S. A., belongs to a Portuguese group with more than 50 years in the lime and limestone business with a solid experience in production, and distribution of their products for agriculture, construction, industry and environment activities. Calcidrata has developed her industrial and commercial activities choosing qualified human resources, the satisfaction of her costumers, the modernization of her production processes, by using the best available techniques in the sector. To show her principles, the company installed a Quality Management System, according to the standard ISO 9001. Nowadays, worried with the environment questions is also installing an Environment Management System , according to the standard ISO 14000. Calcidrata is a member of European Lime Association – EuLA. – FACILITIES The Calcidrata facilities includes her own quarry where we explore the rawmaterial: the limestone with 98% of purity. The facilities includes, also, the lime production unit. With 3 vertical kilns and 2 hydration lines, Calcidrata has a capacity to produce 120.000 tons of lime a year . To produce those quantities, Calcidrata uses cork dust as combustible. Cork dust is a waste of Portuguese cork industry.
