The South West Apprenticeships Ambassador Network (SWAAN) is a group of employers and key partners who advocate and champion apprenticeships as a pathway to business, economic and individual success in the South West. As part of a national collaboration of nine regional Apprenticeship Ambassador Networks, the SWAAN Ambassadors' main aim is to inspire and encourage other employers to also engage in apprenticeships. In practice this can be via in-house activities shared on social media and websites, by entering awards, celebrating apprenticeship graduations, and by participating in marketing campaigns, such as #NAW, as well as joining SWAAN live events on a range of apprenticeship topics throughout the year. Working with strategic partners in the South West, we deliver events and celebrations, case studies, signposting, social media activities, and advocacy to new employers, whilst our Employer and Partner Ambassadors also benefit from insights shared with/from ESFA, the Education and Skills Funding Agency. The SWAAN Regional Coordinator manages this page on LinkedIn and a Twitter account, @SWAAN_Coord, for all apprentice employers and key stakeholders. Working alongside SWAAN in the South West is SW-YAAN, an aligned community of current and recent Apprentices, aged 18-27, who have registered as Young Apprentice Ambassadors to help promote apprenticeships to young people and endorse the range of subjects, benefits, progression routes and extensive career opportunities which they provide. The SW-YAAN Apprentices support Schools Engagement by working independently with key partners such as Amazing Apprenticeships, ASK (Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge for schools and colleges), and the Careers and Enterprise Company Careers Hubs.
