Berkeley Analytical is an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited environmental laboratory specializing in VOC emissions testing & analysis of organic chemicals emitted by & contained in building products, architectural coatings & finishes, furniture, medical devices, & consumer products including phthalate testing of toys. We provide independent VOC testing of building products & commercial furnishings to support certified & self-declared claims for low emitting products needed for environmental credits in the LEED certification systems for new/ renovated buildings & other green building certification systems (CHPS certification, Green Globes), by new green building codes (CALGreen, ASHRAE Standard 189.1, IgCC), & by product certification programs (FloorScore certification, CRI Green Label Plus certification, Blue Angel certification). VOC emissions from building products are measured using the CA Section 01350 test method (CDPH Std. Method V1.1). Furniture testing for VOC emissions is conducted following ANSI BIFMA standards M7.1, X7.1, & e3 for furniture sustainability. Formaldehyde testing is another Berkeley Analytical specialty. We test composite woods by formaldehyde emission standards in CARB ATCM & analyze other products, including consumer products, for formaldehyde emissions & content. We also provide indoor air quality testing services for professionals conducting building commissioning studies for LEED IEQ Credit 3.2 & for other types of building investigations.
