Sustainable Entrepreneurship At Berkeley is a UC Berkeley-based professional development network initiative that hopes to connect, educate, and mentor students interested in impact investing and the sustainable startup sector. As the world finally begins to shift toward climate neutrality, sustainability will be increasingly essential in every aspect of life — especially with regard to entrepreneurship, which will require a new level of climate consciousness to continue developing successfully and innovatively. We feel the intersections between these two sectors are drastically under-addressed, and hope to bridge the gap between sustainability and VC culture to cultivate a more interdisciplinary understanding of the present and future. By encouraging students to invest responsibly and familiarizing students with diverse aspects of the ESG space, we hope to equip students with the unique ability to consider profit and sustainability in tandem, thriving in their post-college careers.
