Arcadia Therapy
www.arcadiatherapy.co.ukI specialise in working towards recovery from compulsive addictive behaviours and substance abuse. As you start to heal from trauma and pain, you will replace unhelpful survival behaviours with self-compassion and become the person you always wanted to be. I also work with families and partners affected by addiction, abuse, neglect, abandonment and other dysfunctions. We identify your goals, what you are struggling with and what you need and want for your future. Everyone is individual, so I combine a range of tailored techniques to explore your negative beliefs, thoughts, feelings and self-sabotaging behaviours. All you need to be is open, honest and willing to explore what is keeping you stuck from changing. It is normal to fear change. However, what you resist, will persist. An experienced therapist can help you to examine what payback you get from self-defeating behaviours. • How to maintain motivation • Coping with urges • Managing thoughts, feelings and behaviours • Balanced life MSc in Addiction Psychology and Counselling (Distinction) (2017) Diploma in Addiction Psychology and Counselling (2016) Certificate in Addiction Psychology and Counselling (2015) I am a professional accredited member of the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Practitioners and adhere to their ethical code of practice. Since 2014, I have worked with private clients and for Catalyst charity, counselling individuals as well as facilitating SMART recovery groups. I also volunteer in a local prison, supporting substance abusers to work towards recovery from trauma and addiction. I have been DBS certified by the Government to work with vulnerable adults and also by the Ministry of Her Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service.
