Pronology has custom designed and built a suite of software tools that are capable of controlling industry standard record devices as well as managing the file import process. Operators are presented with a clear, simple to use interface that facilitates the media contribution process and the entry of organizational metadata. Pronology supports an internal file-accelerated uploader/downloader for off-site contribution/distribution. The Pronology Solution is completely hardware, media-type, storage-type, and NLE agnostic. Pronology supports partial file extraction from master assets; generating new media from user defined “sub-clips” in order to expedite the editorial, archive restoration and delivery processes. The Pronology logging tools enable one or several users to instantly, and time code accurately, log content “live”. The user’s comments and log entries are immediately visible to all other (authorized) users. Pronology’s approval system enables post-production staff to email a link to one or a group of producers seeking comments and editorial approval for recorded and edited content. This link is completely encrypted, allowing for off-site viewing while maintaining content security. Pronology supports complete near-line management and enables the easy migration of assets from one tier of storage (i.e. Edit SAN) to a secondary tier of less expensive storage (i.e. near-line).
