www.bvcosp.comOur Mission is the elimination of suicide in Brazos Valley through influential activism & strategic partnership. - Influential Activism involves providing awareness & education that focus attention on issues pertaining to suicide prevention. - Advocacy initiatives involve lending support to policy, practice, initiative, & law that helps prevent suicide. - Education initiatives will involve presenting members of the Brazos Valley relevant information regarding suicide statistics, trends, causal & related variables, & related dynamics including, but not limited to; warning signs & symptoms of suicide ideation in children, teens, adults, and in special populations as well as how to talk to someone who may be suicidal. It also will involve instructing on how to recognize warning signs in self and others, and ways to effectively take preventative action as well as providing instruction on how to effectively talk about the dangers of suicide with peers, family members, teens, children, & others, and how to develop & maintain suicide prevention plans. Educational initiatives will additionally provide information on preventative measures, attitudes, behaviors, thought-processes, & activities as well as how, when, & where to seek professional mental health provider assistance.
