The Eastern-Central Technological Initiative, Inc. (INTECO according to the Spanish acronym) initiated operations in September 2003 as a not-for-profit corporation with the mission of promoting the economic development of the Eastern Central Region of Puerto Rico through the commercialization of new technologies and innovative products as key components, constituting a major breakthrough for the Island economy.
