McGill Womens Alumnae Association

myalumni.mcgill.ca

Representing all women graduates of McGill University, the McGill Women's Alumnae Association (MWAA) was founded in 1889 by the University's first eight women graduates as the "Alumnae Society." Throughout the years, McGill’s alumnae have supported many important causes. In 1891, the University’s 30 female graduates established an organization dedicated to Montreal’s working women called, "The Girls Club and Lunch Room." Then in 1932, a scholarship committee and fund were set up to support scholarships and bursaries. Today, we continue to come together regularly in the spirit of continued growth, development and social consciousness. We share and promote the positive impacts our alumnae have on the university as part of its diverse community. Our mission is to advance the leadership potential of McGill’s female graduates and their positive impact on the University and community. The MWAA strives to contribute to excellence in educational achievement, lifelong learning, and the improvement of the community at large. https://myalumni.mcgill.ca/s/1762/gid2/interior-connect.aspx?sid=1762&gid=2&pgid=446
