Scotdec
www.scotdec.org.ukFounded in 1986, we are a well-regarded charity working in Scotland to promote global citizenship education. Our vision is that young people in Scotland are able and motivated to challenge global inequality – creating a fairer future for all. For this vision to become a reality we work with educators - supporting them to be confident, skilled and motivated to put Global Citizenship at the heart of education. We do this by • Offering professional learning courses for teachers and youth workers in Global Citizenship, Learning for Sustainability, political literacy and Rights-based learning. • Producing high quality education resources to bring issues to life. These resources, written in partnership with teachers and youth workers, are free and are for use with young people in a variety of settings. • Offering teachers and youth workers in Scotland the opportunity to work with partners across Europe. As partners in a number of DEAR and Erasmus + funded projects these opportunities invigorate and challenge current practice. Our vision and aspirations are not unique to us – we are part of a national and international movement. We work with colleagues across the UK and Europe to strengthen our message of the need for global citizenship education.
