C.L. Seifert

C.L. Seifert is a family business with over 150 years of experience in the field of tailoring. Today, our Student Department provides student caps and other graduation related products to Denmark, Finland and Sweden. We are also proud to be an appointed provider of gala uniforms, headwear and accessories for the Royal Danish Court, among other customers who have special requirements for tailored products. Student hats were introduced in 1873 in Denmark with inspiration from the first Nordic student meetings in 1867. C.L.Seifert and the history of the student hat have followed each other throughout generations. The forefather of C.L. Seifert, Carl Ludvig Seifert (1834-1898), a newly examined 22 year old tailor, came to Copenhagen in 1856 from Mühlau in Sachsen, and together with his future wife Mina Seifert (born Thee) (1834-1913), they started a family and a tailor business together in Copenhagen. Today, the company is owned by Anders Eriksen and Jens Eriksen, two cousins, who expanded the business and moved the tailoring shop to larger premises at Ny Adelgade 8-10 in 2010.
