Mediawise Society develops the only existing media literacy education program with a holistic and participatory approach of media education in Romania – Workshops & Resources @Mediawise for children and youth.  The program was set up in 2014 as the incipient phase to build a larger community of practice (CoP) in media literacy education in Romania and in the South-Eastern European region. We train and assist media education practitioners (especially teachers, trainers and librarians) to work together to advance media literacy in their local organizations, schools, libraries and communities among children and youth.  Critical attitude towards media is in the center of the Mediawise educational tools and workshops’ creation for children and youth. The Mediawise program was shortlisted for the 2017 Evens Prize for Media Education along with other 11 media literacy projects in Europe.
