Every time. Forgoing processing machinery used by other fish importers, we hand trim all of our fish in Iceland for better yield, less waste, and finer cuts. Aquafisk is also deeply conscientious about our impact on the environment. In an effort to offset the carbon footprint of our practices, we contracted with the Iceland Carbon Fund, Kolviður who offsets the effects of carbon emissions through the planting of trees. Additionally, we ship exclusively through Icelandair Cargo, the ISO 14001 certified airline whose efforts include reducing its carbon footprint with a “continuous descent approach” decreasing fuel use and noise pollution and by optimizing storage space on all planes for maximum cargo on each flight.
