Additional corrosion protection can be given to the extinguisher bodies by applying zinc undercoat. The Britannia operating headcap has service indicators to be used where extinguishers are located outside keeping a record of maintenance in the most extreme environments. The new P50 omposite extinguisher is the latest development in the UK Fire extinguisher industry. These extinguishers are certified to EN3 and MED with a 20 year life, requiring no discharge testing for 10 years. The P50 is designed to reduce corrosion and reduce maintenance because it only requires a simple annual inspection. The P50 requires no discharge test at 5 years. This is a carbon neutral and recyclable product. It eliminates service visits and therefore massively reduces carbon footprint. The manufacturing process requires little energy, no shot-blasting, no painting, no welding, no degreasing and no waste disposal. At the end of the products life, Britannia Fire offer a complete recycle and replacement programme.
